Ryan Grubb and Kalen DeBoer have worked together since 2007, when Grubb started coaching under DeBoer at the University of Sioux Falls:
Sioux Falls
Grubb was the offensive line coach and run game coordinator for the first three seasons, and then the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the last four seasons. He also served as the school's strength and conditioning coach.
Eastern Michigan
Grubb followed DeBoer to Eastern Michigan as the offensive line coach when DeBoer was hired as the offensive coordinator in 2014.
Fresno State
Grubb followed DeBoer to Fresno State in 2018 as the offensive line coach, and eventually became the offensive coordinator from 2019–2021.
Washington
Grubb followed DeBoer to Washington, where he was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Under Grubb, Washington finished first and second in passing offense in 2022 and 2023, respectively. I have to wonder if Grubb was the reason DeBoar has succeeded. I realize every good leader had really good people around him and DeBoar did lose two really good Coaches. So will DeBoar be able to succeed without these two? Opinions
