should soon be a 5 star soon with the way he is playing. with him, bradley, clowney, miller, pringle, gary, davison, and bediako next year the tide should be rolling. maybe oats will look to add a small forward by way of the transfer portal or get a junior in high school to reclass to the 2022 class. either way we should be loaded in the 2022-2023 season.

If I was Oats, I would tell BAMA to build a new arena or I would leave. His recruiting and team performance has been outstanding so far. We have a multi-purpose facility that was built in 1969. Yes it's been remodeled. Over and over again.
IMO we need to build a 25,000 seat basketball arena and a contract to lock Oats in for at least 6 years. I believe if we don't do this, we will lose Oats the first time he wins a National Championship.

Easy there big fella. As much as I like Oats and am excited for his style of play and recruiting there are some things that shouldn't be ignored. He's like 5-6 years removed from being a high school coach, his success last season was with a group of upperclassmen that he did not recruit and sign, and it's probably safe to say that currently he has Alabama at about the same level that he had a mid major school (make the tournament, maybe win a game??). Oats was rewarded after last season, let's see if he can continue to replicate. If he does what we think he'll do then give the man whatever he wants.

In my opinion, the university of Alabama should have a proper basketball venue regardless of who the coach is. Shouldn’t be viewed as a reward to a successful coach. It should just be built because it’s the right thing to do

100% agree. In college basketball is uniquely affected by a great atmosphere. Having a great home atmosphere can be the difference in our program being here to stay and our falling back into extreme mediocrity long term

25,000 seat arena? Not for basketball in Tuscaloosa. Thing would be half full half the time. Need a 12-13,000 seat state of the art facility. But agree with your premise- new arena badly needed.
Program has past thr Sweet 16 exactly one time in history/ not sure a national title will ever be a reality.

Think again. Look at our track record. Whatever we build we will keep for 50 - 60 years.
If we don't build before Oats gets offers, we won't be able to leverage a new building to keep him. Any team that wants him will have a better arena than we do and will pay him more money than we will.

Are the commitments officially signed?
