Anyone else surprised that he decided to insert himself into this shit show...he has spent his entire career staying neutral and now all of a sudden he puts his name up in bright lights...very curious as to why he did what he did, although when Tagliabue leaked it he conveniently left off the statement that he was NOT in favor of changing the filibuster in the Senate...
My theory is he thought he was part of a confidential letter going to Manchin, and did not think it would be used in the public forum...others think he was pressured into signing it or it would be used against him...I find it hard to believe that a guy with $100M plus could be blackmailed but you never know...looks like Jimbo said no as he is also a very prominent WV native at the top of his profession...makes no sense to me, especially knowing it was a losing argument all along...if he wanted to influence Manchin why not call him...if I'm Manchin and we were friends I'd be pissed at the grand stand nature of this plow...
