— Saban on going up against an up-tempo offense: "If you have extended drives and you can't sub, you worry about your players being able to continue to play at a high level when they get a little gassed. Secondly, when they go fast, you enhance the chances of making mental errors."
— Saban says Tennessee QB Hendon Hooker is a really good athlete who knows the Volunteers offense really well and can make plays with his feet. He also complimented him on being an accurate passer and noted he doesn't make a lot of mistakes with the ball.
— Saban on if Bryce Young could have played last week: I didn't think he was in a position that he could go and effectively do his job ... he's made a lot of progress since that point, so hopefully that changes in the near future.
— Saban called Henry To'oTo'o a "great competitor," stating he communicates well and has a very good understanding of the defense. He said To'oTo'o has got more comfortable in what he was doing this year.
