The jynx worked ;)

1) Every player stepped up in Sexton's absence. It's easy to point out Petty scoring 27 and hitting a billion threes, but what about the other guys? Herb Jones put together an NBA-like scoresheet with 11 point, 7 reb, and 4 assists. Dazon Ingram scored 16 points with 10 coming from the charity stripe, and he put the game on ice late. Also Alex Reese, and if this guy can score 8-10 a night off the bench this team can be extremely deep. He hit two huge threes tonight which is become a reoccurring them as of late.

2) Defense, defense, defense. Holding one of the top scoring teams in the country to 39% shooting from the field and 9/26 from 3 is a huge accomplishment. I stated in the pregame I thought Alabama's length could affect the smaller guards and that was the case. Constantly frustrating them into 14 turnovers and countless contested jumpers. Also out rebounded them, which they haven't been out rebounded in quite sometime.

3) The offense wasn't pretty at times, but overall was efficient. Shot 49% from the field and 44% from 3 is an excellent shooting night for Alabama, and it normally means a victory. John Petty had one of his nights where he just could not miss and was getting other players involved as well. Alabama played aggressive, and even though the officiating was very subpar for both sides, they remained aggressive while making tough shots. This game should build momentum and getting a playmaker in Sexton and Hall back will only make it better.

BUCKLE UP FELLAS.
