1) Didn’t see this coming? You must not understand this rivalry and how Auburn tends to play at home against Alabama. Auburn started off slightly slow but then picked it up hitting threes from everywhere on the court. Alabama’s turnovers sparked several transition threes where it didn’t matter if the defense was there or not. I didn’t count how many points they had off turnovers, but it seemed like every one of the turnovers turned into points.

2) Alabama was playing well with Auburn the first ten minutes, but Auburn went on a 15-0 run and seemingly put the game out of reach that early. Alabama didn’t play well enough on offense to keep up with Auburn or to prevent Auburn from scoring in transition. Too many easy threes and transition baskets that made this game get out of hand quickly.

3) This is a result most expected, regardless of by how much, but it’s a tall task winning in Auburn when you’re Alabama. This is just one game against a team you weren’t expected to beat, and have a game on Wednesday against Georgia that they will have to win. So Alabama will have to brush this game off and take care of business on Wednesday.
