Defiantly merit, but his girlfriend did come out and take the blame, BUT anyone who knows people in a domestic violence situation this is pretty common. Dude deserves to lose his job.

There is, also, the grim fact that this woman may still really love him, and after tempers had calmed down, he explained to her we are about to lose a gazillion $’s, plus be un-hireable, outside of Auburn and LSU, unless you take the blame.

My thoughts exactly. I hate these "we need to pay more money" panic threads. Same thing happened when the Saban to Texas rumors happened years ago.
