Reading all the comments over the past couple of days, got me thinking. While I think Milroe has made some bone headed plays in a few games, I never saw him as many have posted- "the worst QB in Bama History". Lat year, I didn't think he should have been pulled after the Texas game since it was only his 3rd career start against a solid team that ended up in the playoffs. He came back after the South Florida benching, plays toe to toe on the same stage with the eventually Heisman winner and takes Bama to the playoffs. This year he starts with a bang, winning three AP National Player of the Week Awards and leads the team to a #1 ranking. And then it all changed for the worse down the stretch. While Milroe played a role in some of the losses, I also have to look at the dropped passes including multiple drops that killed possessions, multiple dropped TDs, a non-existent running game and a defense that could not stop one dimensional teams. I also don't think it helps that he followed Mac and Bryce who are arguably the best two QBs to play for Saban. With that said, I wanted to know how Milroe's numbers compared to past Bama QBs. If Milroe does not play another down for Bama, which I don't think will happen, he would be #7 all-time in passing yards, 7th in passing TDs, 7th in completion percentage for QB's with over 400 attempts (64.3% for his career), 5th highest QB rating, again for QB with at least 400 attempts, and 3rd behind Tua and Mac for yards per completion. What I found interesting is that his 20 int's ties him with Bart Starr at 11th. In rushing, Milroe is 28th all time in rushing yards and 9th all time in rushing TD's with 33- tied with Bobby Humphrey. If we are being honest, that is some serious production over basically the last two years.
