No one can deny that Saban is the GOAT. However much of his success is due to the people he surrounds himself with. We have not been the same since Kirby and Scott Cochran left. Coaches see the fall off at Alabama and would rather go somewhere else. Just consider, DC hire - fail, OC hire- fail, Transfer Portal of late - fail. It is no secret Saban wanted Tyler Van Dyke from Miami but he decided not to transfer. He was 21-30 with 374 yards for Miami saturday. What's the answer - I wish I knew.
