For the last three years the secret to beating LSU was to force them to be a one dimensional football team. The last two years we beat LSU by daring them to throw the forward pass, which they could not do. Earlier this year, Auburn dared LSU to throw the football and Auburn stopped a throwing team from running and the LSU QB eventually completed enough passes to win the game.

So far this year, LSU won the Georgia and Mississippi State games by forcing Georgia and Mississippi State to throw the football, which neither was able to successfully do. LSU lost to Florida by forcing Florida to throw the football and Dan Mullen refused to oblige them and beat LSU on the corners with the option game. To beat LSU we are going to have to do the reverse of the last two years and rely on a six men front being able to stop the LSU running game and stop the passing game, which is the only way LSU can beat us. So far this year, every team we have faced has been trying to stop Alabama's vaughted running game, which plays right into the hands of Alabama and Tua. I suspect that LSU with their great pass defense is going to try to make Alabama run the football by playing nickle and dime coverages, which is the only way to keep up with Bama's five receivers. you cannot play zone coverage and beat Alabama.

In short the team that makes the other team one dimensional will win the game. If we can run against the LSU six men front we win the game big. If we cannot run the ball, LSU has a chance.
