Transfer Portal Watch List

My friend unless things have changed, if he has signed a LOI we have to honor it unless there are issuses of off the court matters. l'm a little ignorant here because l'm not sure if he has signed or not. l want to say he committed after the first signing period, but l may be wrong.
He has signed but off the court stuff could hinder that.

Veteran and an assist machine. 🤷‍♂ he didn’t fit Cals system and no idea if he’s suited for oats, but he’s been a quality sec pg.

Not sure if Alabama has reached out to him yet, but with Caleb Love in the portal that would fill an immediate need at guard with Burnett entering the portal. Thoughts? @Jordan Harper

36.6 last year. I’m no wheeler apologist, I just live in UK country and hear about them constantly. I hope Oats can do better too!

3 point stat from 2022-23 is very misleading as Wheeler attempted only 41 threes and made 15 in 21 games.

Didn’t realize it was that few. He did average twice as many assists as Q, but man looking back at stats, Q in 20-21 was something else.

He’s a two-way player who can really defense multiple positions. I don’t worry about his shot %. That can be fixed. He’s big and strong.
Here are our team 3 point shooting percentage rankings since Oats arrived - 2019/2020 94th, 2020/2021 109th, 2021/2022 300th, 2022/2023 210th. That's just plain awful. Oats' 2 best shooting teams were comprised primarily of players he inherited from Johnson. We obviously haven't "fixed" anyone else's shooting %. What makes you so confident we can fix his?

Sure, you would like the percentages to be higher, but you would think the last 4 years have been terrible by reading this post....3 NCAA tournaments in 4 years, 2 SEC regular season championships, 2 SEC tournament championships, 2 seed and 1 seed....The NCAA tournament is a one and done tournament so one bad game and you are headed home....When we were a 2 seed, missed FTs cost us vs UCLA....And vs SDSU, we couldn’t make anything, from layups to 3 pointers(25/71)

The last 4 years have been far from terrible, but our 3 point shooting hasn't. I knew it wasn't great, but was surprised it has been that bad. Our average team ranking in 3 point % over those 4 years is 178. That's really bad, especially for a team as reliant on the 3 point shot as we are.

The 3% is a correlation of the attempts they take. They’re always top 3-5 in attempts so % will never been super high. I will say that they need better pure shooters though. Oats has taken some guys that aren’t known as shooters and make them capable.
