'We got after it today': Alabama basketball preps for rematch with Gonzaga

It’s possible, but the team can’t play the way it did on Tuesday. Gonzaga is way to talented to be given that many chances
I actually think Gonzaga is an easier matchup for us. They don’t play defense quite like Memphis and Houston, and we’ll have more chances to create open looks. It doesn’t mean we’ll win, but I like our chances.

Alabama head coach Nate Oats explained why the team's practice ran long before its rematch with No. 15 Gonzaga.

I might be the only one and as soon as I collect Nate oats’ head coach paycheck that will be the first but after a tough game like the Memphis one, I’m not gassing the players for a physical exhausting practice.

I want them fresh. Again my experience stops at high school so I know nothing ,

The Huston game was an ole fashioned beat em up too! Mentally, they should be good to go, physically, I hope Oats can get em rested.

Be interesting to see if we have some dead legs later in the game. It’s been a long week for them physically and our best players right now are all freshman. So they haven’t been through this before. Hopefully our bench can play some quality minutes. I never dreamed we’d beat Houston so I didn’t expect to go 3-0 in this stretch. And really didn’t want to…I don’t want to peak now. I felt like when we beat Gonzaga last year, that was good enough and we peaked then.

These kids are in their teens. In no world should they have dead legs late in the game as much as we sub unless we got to 8 overtimes again.

I knew this was coming. But you’re wrong. That’s why they track these kids and their output. Go tell Nick Saban such a thing.

Yea but they didn't ride bicycles and climb mountains in the woods growing up. They played video games.
I wasn’t playing SEC level BB, but I can say when I was that age I played almost every minute of every game, and never once do I recall being tired. Shoot, my adrenaline was going so much, I usually had more energy at the end of the game than I did in the beginning.

Exactly. I played every minute of every high school basketball game.

With TV timeouts and such, no excuse to be tired.
