There’s been a lot of talk about players coming and going lately, so I figured I’d put together a potential Alabama roster for next season. There is nothing at all official about this, just a cool hypothetical to look at.

Starting five
Kira Lewis Jr. — 6-foot-3, 167 pounds
John Petty Jr. — 6-foot-5, 197 pounds
Tevin Mack — 6-foot-6, 225 pounds
Trendon Watford — 6-foot-9, 230 pounds
Galin Smith — 6-foot-9, 245 pounds

Next 5
James Bolden, 6-foot, 175 pounds
Jaden Shackelford — 6-foot-3, 185 pounds
Juwan Gary — 6-foot-6, 200 pounds
Herbert Jones — 6-foot-7, 206 pounds
Alex Reese — 6-foot-9, 238 pounds

Last 3
Raymond Hawkins — 6-foot-9, 225 pounds
Jaylen Forbes — 6-foot-5, 190 pounds
Javian Davis Flemming — 6-foot-9, 268

Additions: The key to this lineup is Alabama’s ability to land Trendon Watford. That will have a huge influence on next season as the five-star forward would provide an impact from Day 1. The other key addition comes in West Virginia guard James “Beetle” Bolden, who has a good relationship with head coach Nate Oats and would be an excellent option off the bench. Bolden averaged 12.2 points and 2.5 assists for West Virginia last season. He’d be a graduate transfer and would be eligible to play right away.

Subtractions: This list assumes that Dazon Ingram and Daniel Giddens end up transferring from the program. Both players currently have their names listed in the NCAA transfer database. It also has Diante Wood transferring from the program. Looking at the roster as of now, Wood might see the writing on the wall in terms of playing time. If he elects to stay, it might hinder Alabama’s ability to land Bolden.

Another name to watch: As Jordan Harper mentioned, Hutchinson CC forward James Rojas is a name to watch. The 6-foot-7, 220-pound forward signed with Buffalo but might still be able to follow Oats to Alabama if the situation arises. As Harper mentioned, Rojas could be a backup option if Alabama fails to land Watford. He could become a possibility if someone like Alex Reese decides to transfer. Rojas is known for his defensive ability, something Alabama could use off the bench.
