The job that is open that might be happening since the AD wants a name guy could be Texas.

It will be hard if their current coach at Texas gets to the final four .. although elite 8 ain’t chopped liver.

Any other big jobs open?

Shirley Texas removes the interim tag from the guy that likely is taking them to the final 4
Why haven’t they yet?

I’ve read that the Texas AD wants a splash hire …

I’ve also heard Texas is still after Oats.

With all the negative attention on Bama basketball, I would think Oats is radioactive for at least a couple of years.

Which makes me wonder how this will hurt recruiting. Miller was coming to Alabama no matter who the coach was, I don’t keep up with recruiting no matter what the sport is so I have no idea what Bama has coming in next year.

Miller was certainly not coming to Bama regardless. If Avery was still the HC, Miller would not be at Alabama. It took Oats and Hodgson developing a really good relationship with him to land him. He was considered a Tennessee lean for a while.

That kid grew up a big time Alabama fan, unless Alabama was sucking major balls, he was coming to Alabama.

Has the FAU coach indicated he wants to leave FAU? My goodness I am not suggesting he would be a a Great Hire or not but one highly successful season with a group of players that have stuck it out with him does not suggest he will or can do the same thing at another school. SDSU's coach has done a really good job and looking at his roster maybe one player is highly rated by the NBA talking heads but he put together a team and Physically developed them into a very good fundamental defensive team that has carried them this far. I hear no one suggesting he could be hired away to a bigger school. Every school and conference has its own set of narratives that dictate success but I never have heard of the FAU or SDS coach until this tournament. Would be epic if both played for the Title.

Why would he say that publicly? Not that I’m aware of..

This is more of looking at the history of coaches whose teams get hot in the tournament, and then how they parlay the run into a bigger, better paying job .

Btw, the FAU gym, I’m told, is about like Hoover high schools.

And I hope he does stay there and, at the same time , what he has accomplished is unbelievable.

He was in like 9th grade the last year AJ was the coach.

If Oats does run away to Texas, maybe Bama upgrades and take the FAU coach.
Maybe take a peak at the guy's 5 year resume before everybody starts offering him the keys to their program. Guy is a .500 coach and this is the first time making the tournament at FAU. Some of you guys really don't deserve anything more than 20-10 and the NIT.

I agree. But I will say May has accomplished a lot with only one senior on his roster.

He has 8 seniors on his roster. That's huge in the game of basketball, especially come tournament time.

I wish the NBA would change their take them out of HS policy. It would be reasonable that the NBA minic the NFL policy concerning underclassmen.

I don’t agree at all, the NFL is so much more of a physical game that a HS player just isn’t physically capable of being on the field with these grown ass men. Basketball is much more about skill.

Alabama football fan. Didn’t care about basketball.
Don’t believe that for one second. How many kids of former players at a school would act like a sidewalk alumni and only pull for the football program. He has Bama in his veins, just because he entertained going somewhere else doesn’t me he was.

He was going somewhere else about as much as Brodie Croyle was going to FSU.
