Thoughts on Alabama's Blowout Win Over Maryland

It wasn't pretty at the start, but it's how you finish that matters. Alabama did just that. They are moving on to the Sweet 16 for the second time in 3 years and they've been dominant this weekend in Birmingham. It was a very slow start for Alabama offensively, but the elite defense kept the Maryland offense at bay the whole first half. That is one thing about this team. A slow offensive night will not deter them from playing their tail off on defense. That was an incredible defensive showing.

Jahvon Quinerly does what Jahvvon Quinerly does by scoring 22 points and Brandon Miller scored 19 on an inefficient night shooting. Charles Bediako played a great game as well scoring 10 points with 10 rebounds. He affected so many shots at the rim and kept Reese at bay most of the day. Alabama shot 39% from the floor and only made 6 threes, but still score 73 on a solid defensive team that likes to push you around. The defense held Maryland to 1-8 shooting and shooting 25%. They dominated the boards 44-32 and forced 13 turnovers. Just an all around elite effort.

Next up: San Diego State. I will have more on them throughout the week, but they are a bad offensive team that plays great defense. They remind me of Texas A&M but worse on offense. Alabama will have to shoot better that game, but it will be a race to 60 to see who wins. 4 more to go!

If this article is true, a TPD Officer should be relieved of duty and more.

As a former law enforcement officer I hope his article is not true, but the facts make a lot more sense than anything I have heard. If the video shows what the reporter says the Tuscaloosa DA has a duty to immediately release the video and drop the charges against Miles. Felony murder charges would be warranted against Johnson and. the charges against Davis would be at most Criminal Negligent Homicide and Detective Culpepper should consider hiring a good attorney. I would hate to be on the Tuscaloosa City Councilman and Mayor if this article is true. If TPD has placed Brandon Miller’s life in jeopardy, may someone help the city treasury.

An realistic and plausible account of events.

Thoughts on Alabama’s Resounding Victory over Texas A&M-CC

Alabama looked like the #1 overall seed and played like it for majority of the game. They started out on fire hitting 10 threes in the first half, with 4 different players hitting a 3. There were some lulls when guys like Clowney (who was brilliant hitting 3 threes) got in foul trouble and Bediako as well, but overall they played magnificent.

Texas A&M-CC fought back a lot and you expect that from a team full of seniors. What was a sign of fantastic depth was Alabama scoring 96 points without Brandon Miller scoring a single point. You had guys like Mark Dears, Noah Clowney, Nick Pringle, and Jahvon Quinerly step up. Miller never seemed in sync within the game and was taking it easy out there you could tell. Possibly the groin/thigh injury bothering him.

Nick Pringle had a great game in the 2nd half scoring 19 points and having 15 rebounds overall. He has been a revelation for the Tide when having to play extended minutes.

Alabama hit 15/34 threes and dominated the board/paint and that’s why they were never in trouble at all. There are times in these 1/16 games where the 1 can sleepwalk, which happened today, but they know when to turn it up. When CC got it to within 12 early in the second half, Alabama had a 8-0 run in 70 seconds to put the game out of reach.

Alabama moves on to play Maryland on Saturday who had a dog fight against West Virginia today.

Maryland HC makes plea for Auburn fans to stay late, cheer against Alabama

Maryland coach Kevin Willard to Auburn fans: "Stick around. It should be a good game. It’s at (8:40) at night, I mean what else is there to do in Birmingham?

How a year in Dodge City helped Nick Pringle prepare for the Big Dance

Before Nick Pringle dazzled at Legacy Arena, he had to make a stop in Dodge City, Kansas.

"Everyone’s story and path is different. The thing with Nick is, it wasn’t handed to him. He had to really earn it to get where he’s at today."

JAWGA IN TROUBLE?

Georgia Bulldogs Football Could Be In Big Trouble With The NCAA

There is no arguing that the Georgia Bulldogs have become the best program in college football. The Dawgs have gone a remarkable 29-1 the last two seasons with two SEC East titles, and SEC title, and two national championships. Kirby Smart has built an absolute juggernaut in all aspects in Athens. Georgia recruits as well as anyone, and they seem bigger, stronger, and faster than anyone else. They have incredible depth, as well. Georgia lost 15 players that were picked in the 2022 NFL Draft, and didn’t take a step back at all. It’s incredible to see what Kirby has built there, and they could be on the cusp of a real dynasty as they look to be the first college football team to three-peat in the AP Poll era.

But, it’s been a bad offseason for the Bulldogs. Offensive tackle Devin Willock and staffer Chandler LeCroy tragically passed away in a car accident just hours after the fanbase held their national title celebration back in January. And, recently, it came out that projected top-five pick Jalen Carter was driving another car at the time of the incident well over the speed limit and fled the scene. They also lost esteemed offensive coordinator Todd Monken to the Baltimore Ravens. And, now, the program seemingly is facing an NCAA investigation.

Fans of programs around the country will be rejoicing at this news, as seemingly every program has had a recruit they thought they were going to get, only for Georgia to mysteriously secure the commitment a few days later. I guess this is how they "stole" Pickens on signing day!

You can draw the conclusions from that how you wish. It will be interesting how this plays out, and if the NCAA actually shows some teeth. Sounds like we’re gonna hear in the coming days/weeks about the Georgia Bulldogs football program and recruiting violations. NCAA is doing more than poking around. Nervous football office right now in Athens.

Richard Jewell and Brandon Miller…

I was trying to think of someone who was “tried by the media” like Brandon is having done to him and the Atlanta Olympic Security Guard Richard Jewell was as close as I can get. Some of you might remember Richard and his story (Clint Eastwood made a movie titled Richard Jewell) about how he was unjustly accused by the media of planting the Bomb that killed 2 people. Brandon’s treatment by the Liberal media has now reached the same level of ridiculousness that Richard Jewell had to unfairly endure. I heard Kenny Smith yesterday on the coverage of our game wrongly state the facts of this case just to make a point about his opinion. It’s that kind of BS that fuels idiots not only in the media but in general to believe Brandon’s guilty of something. Is Brandon being affected by all of this craziness? Absolutely!!! All anyone needs to do is look at his stats from yesterday’s game to figure that out. The sad truth is that Brandon will not find peace from this BS until he is out of an Alabama uniform and Tuscaloosa, Alabama. I hope he takes a ring and a couple of nets with him when he leaves.
