Beating a dead horse

I know I’m beating a dead horse, and CNS knows a whole lot more than I do. My thoughts are I wish CNS would step outside his comfort zone and look closely at Kevin Barbay who just went to MSU as quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator. I know it’s CNS legacy at stake here and not mine. But CNS needs a young and coming offensive coordinator who will be with him for 3-4 years maybe 5 at the most. I’ve watched Kevin Barbary’s offense’s for a few years and I’ve been impressed, especially how receivers get open and take so much off his quarterbacks, which opens up the running game. BAMA has the quarterbacks but all are young and unproven. They need a quarterback coach that has a hands on approach and knows the position from playing it. I’m BAMA through and through just want 3 or 4 National Championships before CNS retirement. Roll Tide Roll. :)

Tennessee?

I hear all this about the NCAA and how it may affect Pruitt? But what about Tennessee?
They have thumbed their noses at the NCAA. Have not imposed any internal penalties, played in a meaningless bowl game after firing Pruitt and have gone on their merry way! Seems to me that Tennessee is not worried so maybe we should not be either.
The real winner could be Pruitt!
If Tennessee doesn’t get hammered a good law suit could come out of this! I personally don’t think that the NCAA is going to give Tennessee to much penalties. We’ll see.
ROLL TIDE ROLL!

Report: Steve Sarkisian to join Alabama's coaching staff (Old thread)

Alabama might be adding a familiar face to its coaching staff. According to a report from ESPN, the Crimson Tide is on the verge of hiring Steve Sarkisian. While the report didn’t specify what position Sarkisian would hold at Alabama, it did state he turned down the offensive coordinator position with the Arizona Cardinals. Sarkisian served as Alabama’s offensive coordinator during the 2017 national championship game where the Crimson Tide lost 35-31 to Clemson.

Sarkisian was recently fired by the Atlanta Falcons after spending the past two seasons as offensive coordinator. He served as an offensive analyst at Alabama in 2017 before being promoted to offensive coordinator for one game after Lane Kiffin left to become the head coach at Florida Atlantic. Before that, he served as the head coach at Southern California (2014-15) and Washington (2009-13). Sarkisian also has offensive coordinator experience at Southern California (2007-08) and also spent time as the Trojans’ quarterbacks coach (2005-06 and 2001-03) as well as holding the same title for the Oakland Raiders (2004).

“He has a great track record and has done a really, really good job wherever he's been, whether it was as the coordinator at Southern Cal or as the quarterbacks coach,” Alabama head coach Nick Saban said upon appointing Sarkisian offensive coordinator in 2016. “He has a history of developing quarterbacks as well as being a very good play-caller and a well-organized, good designer of offense.”

Sarkisian would likely fill the opening at offensive coordinator left behind by Mike Locksley, who took the head coaching job at Maryland last month. Alabama also has an opening at quarterbacks coach after Dan Enos left earlier this week to become the offensive coordinator at Miami.

Hey my Bama bros and sisters ... just got the word from my grandson Blanton that my great granddaughter just arrived! Went to the hospital around 5 this morning and Laikyn just delivered! Heck, I remember 25 years ago when Blanton was born, and I believe I'm more excited seeing him become a dad! THANK YOU GOD! Can't wait to get up to Louisville and meet her!

Football Recruiting Alabama lands a trio of PWOs in the last 24 hours

Alabama has confirmed two PWO prospects will join the fold. Traditionally, today would be national signing day, but with weather affecting certain areas of the US and all over Alabama, primary recruits either on campus or having already signed the Tide are all but done.

That said, Alabama has had success with players that quietly waited their turn and earned a chance to compete for the Tide, Levi Wallace being one example.

Here are two names that will join the fold this summer as preferred walk-ons:

Antonio Ross - Alexandria (Ala.) - Defensive Back

Ross held offers from Liberty, Georgia State, Georgia Southern, Jacksonville State, Tulane, UAB, and Memphis.
