Off Week could not have come at a better time.

I think the fans and the team needed a week to let the bumps and bruises heal. I think we all saw Saturday the reason for three bad passes out of the last six that Bryce threw against Tennessee Saturday Night. Bryce did not have his usual crispness on the passes or his touch. The effects of the shoulder injury and the pitch count could be seen. Bryce was on the sideline using the electric stimulation every time he left the field Saturday Night. I was shocked that Coach did not put in Milroe earlier, as Bryce was obviously hurting.

Well at least Bryce gets a week to rest his shoulder and try to get well for LSU. Alabama is having obvious problems with the 3-3-5 Defense and maybe someone can figure that Defense out before LSU, as I am sure we will see the 3-3-5 the rest of the season.

Last weekend I was glad to see that we still have the jet sweep in the play book. I just hate that we had a bad snap on the play, as I think Gibbs is the right player to run the jet sweep. I also would think long and hard about Gibbs running the slant over the middle, as he dropped that pass when it was run for him against State, although that was a wicked hit he took. One thing you can say about Miss State, they will hit you.

Football Recruiting Miss St/Ala Recruit Updates and Reactions

We are set for a busy weekend in Tuscaloosa with a HUGE recruiting weekend, especially for the class of 2024. For tonight's game, we actually have feet on the ground; therefore, we wanted to provide some updates prior to the game.

In attendance again are several members of the 2023 class:

Qua Russaw was just interviewed our own James Bernetto in his on-location report. Russaw continues to maintain that he and Smith are a package deal. Good, that's he back for a visit after starting to hear Florida picking up the pace.

Jalen Hale has returned to Alabama, this time as a committed member of the Crimson Tide. Hale has turned his attention to becoming a quiet recruiter for Alabama, especially in Texas, with names such as Aeryn Hampton, Malik Muhammad, and others.

In attendance Jordan Lockhart from California's St.John Bosco. Lockhart is committed to Ole Miss, but he's had this visit on the books for months, and according to sources close to him, he's still seriously considering Alabama.

Braylon "Stonka" Burnside is an athlete from Mississippi who's had comparisons to AJ Brown but may have his best football ahead of him on the defensive side of the ball.

We will have more updates as we get them, along with reactions from players immediately after the game.

Question?

I haven’t see anything on this here so if I missed it I’m sorry.

there has been a lot of talk about the targeting call that was obvious and reviewed and no call.

There was another blow to Bryce’s head that was not called. Everyone is aware I’m sure.

then, there was the hit Bryce took when he was in his slide and almost down when Tennessee guy came in low to hit him.
is it a penalty in college when he’s in his slide and gets hit even though he’s not down officially?

I think it was clear they were trying and prolly instructed to hurt Bryce.

Do u think

There is mental illness rampant in Tennessee because of all the inbreeding? I had softened on my hate of Tennessee but it has reached a new height. They are unreal. i have been attacked And trashed. They watched the same game, they know the refs were influenced in some way, if not, directly paid off. They throw mustard bottles and golf balls. What is wrong with these people?

Whatever you do…..

Don’t mention bad officiating to a Tennessee fan.
Don‘t mention Rocky Top is a song about a motel?
Don’t mention that the town of Rocky Top changed it name to Lake City? Maybe out of embarrassment?
and whatever you do Don’t mention their school colors were chosen because of the Daisies on campus!

seriously, the subject of bad officiating is a sore spot for UT fans. I was attacked by someone I’m acquainted with but didn’t know he was a UT fan. Needless to say, we ain’t friends anymore. He got out of hand. They are still sensitive even though they got credit for the win.

Football 🏈 The emergence of Eli Ricks: LSU-transfer shines in first start with Alabama

Eli Ricks finally got his first start and took advantage. Read what Alabama players and Nick Saban said about the junior's performance.

"He's a great player and I think as long as he puts his head down ... he's going to be one of the best cornerbacks," Henry To'oTo'o said.

Send in the Clowns

In the recording world artists from Frank Sinatra and Judy Collins to George Jones sang, Send in the clowns...Don't bother, they're here. In the SEC world we're stuck with Paul Finebaum. The Alabama team has a standard, and I believe fans have pretty high expectations for the team. Alabama fans, and really all SEC fans should demand more from the SEC network than Paul Finebaum, who is the Jerry Springer of the SEC. We deserve better...at least I hope we do. So if you deserve better, email ilan.ben-hanan@espn.com Ilan Ben-Hanan is senior vice president, programming and acquisitions and oversees ACC Network, ESPNU, Longhorn Network and SEC Network. I did and I feel better already.
