Football 🏈 What Nick Saban said about Alabama's positional battles

Nick Saban didn’t have too much to say about Alabama’s quarterback competition Thursday as the Crimson Tide opened its preseason practice. However, the head coach did go into detail about several of his team’s other positional groups during his first press conference of camp.

Here’s a look at the areas he addressed.

Will the BIG10 expands to 20 this week?

Athlon reporting that th BIG10 will add Oregon, Washington, Clemson and FSU this week. That would be the end of the ACC and the PAC12 as football conferences, if true. BIG10 to add four.

I don’t need to tell the SEC Commissioner what to do, but at that point I would consider adding North Carolina, Virginia, Pitt and Syracuse. For those that think I am insane on the last two, look at the TV markets you would be adding.

Football Recruiting Notes from the Road: Suggestions?

Hey fellas, so I take a lot of pride in going to see kids in person at practice and games. I think y’all like that viewpoint and I personally enjoy building genuine relationships.

That said, I’d love to get some of your thoughts as we prepare for the season. This week, I’ll see RB Daniel Hill, Favour Edwin and Amari Jefferson for his commitment but I’d like to know who’d like for me to aim to see.

Football Season is here!!!

32 days until kickoff. Name the great University of Alabama football players to wear #32.

Okay I’m two hours early. Some people save their best plays for their last plays, Eryk Ander’s saved his most important play for his last play at Alabama. When #32 had a National Championship play on his last play, he becomes number 32. With the score 24-21 and Texas getting the ball, Anders came up with one Of the biggest sacks in Bama History. Is today the last day of the PAC12?

The Board of Regents of the State of Arizona is having a meeting today and the agenda is do Arizona and Arizona State leave the PAC12 for the Big12. In Arizona the decisions are made by the Board of Regents and it is a certainty that it must be a package deal. Should they leave the PAC12 would be down to seven Schools and Utah will not be far behind. The question will then be are the Pacific Northwest schools far behind, meaning Washington and Oregon.

Football 🏈 Alabama puts three players on Bronko Nagurski preseason watch list

After seeing Will Anderson Jr. take home the Bronko Nagurski Trophy the past two seasons, Alabama will look for a new defender to continue the streak this fall. Fortunately for the Crimson Tide, it has several viable candidates for the honor which is presented annually to college football’s top defender.

Alabama landed three players on the Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch list released Tuesday. The Tide is represented by edge rusher Dallas Turner as well as defensive backs Kool-Aid McKinstry and Malachi Moore.

Alabama has produced two Bronko Nagurski Trophy winners as defensive lineman Jonathan Allen took home the award in 2016 before Anderson earned the honor the past two years.

This story will be updated.

Football 🏈 Alabama lands three on Outland Trophy preseason watch list

One of Alabama’s main objectives this fall is to improve in the trenches. If preseason accolades are any indication, the Crimson Tide appears to be in good shape.

Alabama landed three players on the preseason watch list for the Outland Trophy, presented to college football’s top interior lineman. The Crimson Tide are represented by offensive linemen J.C. Latham and Tyler Booker as well as defensive linemen Jaheim Oatis.

17 years & 7 months ago, was Paul Finebaum Responsible for Alabama's Success?

The insult that changed College Football. Seventeen years and seven months ago, Paul Finebaum insulted Rich Rod's wife. Was that the reason that Rich Rod turned down Alabama? Maybe we will never know, but did the insult change the course of modern college football. Why Rich Rod turned down Alabama. Maybe we will never know the real reason Rich Rod turned down Alabama, nor what would have been had he come to Alabama, but I think we are all pleased that he did not come.
