Football Recruiting Weekend Nuggets from the Road: Texas

Today starts a recruiting trip to Texas. It’s clear that Alabama has made Texas quite the priority, extending offers across the state.

A few stops on the agenda include Waco Connally and Lake Belton to check in on Kobe Black, Michael Hudson & Selman Bridges to name a few.

It should be an extra loaded weekend regarding talent with two 7v7 set to take place in Houston. I will do my best to keep you updated on visits, prospects along the way.

Big day for Fourth Place Lady Tide

This afternoon could be a big day for the Lady Tide Basketball team. Alabama finally got to the fourth place line with three games to go. Today will start with Ole Miss playing South Carolina then we move our attention to Starkvegas, where will face a very good Miss State team. This is a game and an experience that Bama Women’s Basketball has not had in twenty-four years.

Get use to the view, because with the group of Freshman coming to TTown, this is going to be the future view.

The women are sitting with a .net of 21 and Miss State is at 38. A win today on the road would be very big.

Former Alabama wide receiver Traeshon Holden dismissed at Oregon

Former Alabama wide receiver Treshon Holden was arrested Wednesday morning, Tide Illustrated has learned.

According to records from the Lane County Jail, Holden is facing three charges — menacing, unlawful use of a weapon, and coercion. Oregon head coach Dan Lanning said Holden was dismissed from the team following his arrest.

"We are aware of the incident involving Traeshon Holden, and he has been dismissed from our team,” Lanning said in a statement. "We have high standards for the student-athletes, coaches, and staff in our football program, and we are disappointed when these standards are not met. We will continue to hold everyone in our program accountable for meeting our expectations."

Women headed into a critical stretch.

Alabama women are well positioned for the last three games. Alabama presently sits in a fourth place tie, with a very good Miss State team directly in front of us, followed by Florida and Ole Miss. Ole Miss must take on South Carolina on Sunday, so if we are fortunate enough to survive Starkvegas, we should have a one game lead headed into our last two games. Over the last three years there has been a turn around in Bama’s Women’s Program and it is only going to get better.

Here is to a three game run that we need.
