I think that when you look at the depth chart you will quickly see why Miss State had no problems running left on Alabama. The left side of your offensive line is usually your strength and most defenses have the defensive lineman occupy the Offensive blockers leaving the linebackers to fill the gap and make the tackles. Alabama going into the Mercer game has a glaring hole on the right side of the Defense. Hamilton and Wilson filled the vacancy on the right side of the Defense, but they are now both gone until the CFP, if Wilson can return by then. Moving Evans inside kills your pass rush, as he is the most effective rusher. There can be little doubt that Moses and Holcombe are not ready and Mosley is just to small. I marked the players that are probably out of the Mercer game in Red. I think we are in much better shape, if we reach the CFP, than we are for the Auburn game.

Today there are seven teams with a chance to make the CFP: Auburn and Georgia must win out. Miami and Clemson must win out. Wisconsin must beat Michigan, Minnesota and Ohio State, and Oklahoma must beat TCU again. Today I would say that Miami and Oklahoma have the best odds of getting in and Alabama has a pretty good shot, even if we do not beat Auburn. Obviously if Auburn wins out, Georgia is out. Either Miami or Clemson is out. I think Wisconsin has the toughest road. I would expect this week ratings to be Alabama, Miami, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Clemson, Georgia and Auburn, and after that nothing matters.
