For those that found themselves concerned with how our offense operated throughout this past season, I think this article may provide some clarity as to why & maybe give y'all a little hope for next year.

As I've said before on this board, Bama's offense was very boom or bust this year, (and last,) and I put a lot of the onus on Milroe for that simply because he was not a good fit for the scheme, no matter how he performed. Again, I am not trying to be hyper-critical of Milore, just making the very obvious observation that he struggles to throw short & intermediate routes with consistency. Nor am I trying to defend Sheridan or his play calling, there was certainly room for improvement. I have however said on more than one occasion that I believe it's impossible to judge Sheridan's ability as a play caller based on this year alone considering Milroe's game does not in any way lend itself to what makes DeBoers offense so successful.

If you read this article that essentially outlines the concepts that Deboer's offense is built on, it might help some to understand why Bama struggled to have consistently dominant offensive performances this year. IMO, it goes a long way in explaining the inconsistency, lack of potent run game, stalled drives, struggles on 3rd downs etc.
