There will be QB’s in the portal and one will turn a Mediocre team into a winner. The question is, does Alabama go after a QB?
I say that I would rather win or lose with what we have than hit the portal, even if Arch Manning is available. We have three capable backup QB’s on campus and a pretty good one coming in. My fear is that if we go to the portal, we may lose all three of what we have as I believe Jalen has played his last regular season college game.
Even if Evers or Manning is available, I think both would destroy the team chemistry. You only hit the portal to fill areas of need, like TE, DL and linebacker. Assuming #2, #18, and #5 return.
I think FSU is proof that you have to get the right transfers and that you cannot build your team with transfers. tOSU built the finest team money could buy out of the portal/NIL and they have two losses. There is some middle ground between Clemson and FSU on the Portal/NIL and the Coach that finds the right balance will be the next best winner in college ball.
