you surprised? they learned the college game under CAJ for years. Our seniors are rattled and looking horrible. We have the lead so let’s come out in the 2nd and act like the #2 seed.
So not the hard fought 2 games to end the sec tournament to win it? yeah ok. But agree today they havnt. Reese and petty gotta ride the pine.I thought Bama would be hot today. They have not played to their potential since Miss State game. Just need to be more consistent.
He seems plenty fired up... he’s mentally off on offenseMight need to sit Petty for awhile. Maybe it will fire him up.
Yah. Let’s play 6 guys. Good idea.Petty and Reese have absolutely no reason to see the court lately (Reese all year). if we want to stick it out it has to be JQ, SHACK, ELLIS, HERB, GARY/BRUNER. Gotta play the newer guys that play hard.
I been thinking the same thing. Not only cold but missing badly.I’ve never seen such a good shooter go that cold for so long.
Two years under CAJ, two under Oats. GTFO with placing blame on anyone else if you are going to put it on a coach. You give Oats all the credit when they play well.you surprised? they learned the college game under CAJ for years.
what? the / clearly states one or the other. Gotta play them the most minutes the 2nd half and its an easy dub. just like when that lineup is in most times.Yah. Let’s play 6 guys. Good idea.
I without a doubt give oats credit. CAJ ruined many college players. low iq, no offense, no defense, and half couldn't dribble. Oats had to completely teach them the game of basketball and has done a great job. I wanted Avery to succeed but he set us back. Two years under CAJ, two under Oats. GTFO with placing blame on anyone else if you are going to put it on a coach. You give Oats all the credit when they play well.
*poorly the last handful of gamesPlayed pretty poorly that half and up one. I think we just took the best punch Iona has. If we can get better shots and clean up the turnovers we will be fine
Just havnt hit some shots. No big deal and we could easily be up bigger but they have 1 player and the 1 thing we've learned this year is oats gameplans at the half and always shuts down the top player on the other team each 2nd half. Many upsets this year. lets not be 1Tied to tell folks all week to cool it on assuming we were going to meet Mich in the elite 8. Iona is playing mediocre but we're playing far far worse. Almost as expected we're flat and Iona is getting just enough to hang around. Going to be scary if its still close with around 5 min to go in the game.
Petty, I don't know what's wrong with him but he's so bad now with the ball that it's offsetting whatever he's offering on defense. His shot looks like he's forgotten how to shoot and is aiming everything. If we win I would find him a gym and watch him shoot 1000 shots to see if he can straighten it out. Plus he's trying too hard to make the crazy pass. He had a 2 or 3 min stretch with like 3 turnovers and 2 really ugly shots.
The whole team needs another wakeup call. If we do win today this performance won't beat anyone ahead of us. We should be up by 20 right now.
If we lose this game then its squarely on Petty. Kid needs to shoot better than 15% from three. Been like this for a month now. And he's has been missing badly.
we always end up shutting down the best player on the other team the 2nd half.Hopefully oats just walked in the locker room and told them to figure out if they want to win and walked away. There should be no need for motivation when your in the big dance!
I hate to agree but he needs to do his work without the ball, work to get open and hit shots. For sure is our worst ball handler outside out big guysI said that in the SEC Tourny. I was wrong. He still can’t handle the ball or pass.
Played pretty well against Miss St, made a huge comeback against UT to win and took LSU’s best shot and won the tournament.*poorly the last handful of games
No, our team played great to win the tourney. I was responding to PettyPlayed pretty well against Miss St, made a huge comeback against UT to win and took LSU’s best shot and won the tournament.
When Petty hits threes this team is hard to beat. He needs to step it up on the offensive end badly. He’s about 30% in the last 10, but closer to 20% if you take away the two UGA games.
The rest of the squad is playing decent so far...really good on the boards in the 1st half which is the only reason Petty‘s stinker doesn’t have them losing.
This post is low IQ. It's also disingenuous and lazy to be that guy who two years later places the blame on the previous coach. How stupid is it to give Oats all the credit when the players play well but all the blame on CAJ when they don't.I without a doubt give oats credit. At least Charles still believes in us lol
100%.I know you probably could not hear it on TV, but I’m wondering if you could see CNO look up in the stands at some guy who screamed to “keep Quinerly in the damn game” Oats paused for a moment before going to the locker room. I hollered at the guy who was not wearing Bama gear “we are all thinking it, but you said it”
ROLL TIDE!!!!
Avery is/was not a very good college coach. This post is low IQ. It's also disingenuous and lazy to be that guy who two years later places the blame on the previous coach. How stupid is it to give Oats all the credit when the players play well but all the blame on CAJ when they don't.
I'm not placing blame on anyone. It is what it is. Some players still have lazy habits that come out and wouldn't you know it, all these players played under CAJ. Coincidence? I think not. Oats is a goat and has brought very limited talent to indy as a 2 seed. honestly crazy good coachingThis post is low IQ.
