I have'nt posted one time about Coach Johnson since we thought he might be coming because I did'nt want to be disappointed if something changed. Now that we know he's our coach I could'nt be happier. I have not seen this board and our fanbase come together like this in a loooong time! Here we are talking about next years starting lineup and basketball recruits and nobody is bitching about it over lapping football coverage. I've loved watching Avery since he was a player and the older players called him the "Little General" because of his tenaciousness and leadership and accountability. He took a long hard road to the NBA and because of his size probably had to work 3 times harder then the average player to become one of the leaders on one of the best NBA teams of all time. Like Saban was mentored under Belichek, Avery was mentored under one of the top 3 coaches of all time in coach Popavich. This guy has forgot more basketball than this entire board will ever know.
The media coverage he'll bring and how great he is in the press conference will be one of the most exciting things that Coach Johnson brings. I can't wait to see him talk up the Bama program all over the radio and ESPN and the SEC network. The media absolutely loves this guy! It's going to be like the 80's and early 90's again that people look to see what Alabama brings to the table in basketball and the excitement for basketball in the state has been a long time coming.
I just know this is going to be the turning point for Alabama basketball and from everything i've read on these message boards it's great to see so many of my Bama brothers feel the excitement and have the anticipation that i have as well.
I absolutely CAN'T WAIT for Basketball season!! Roll Tide brother's, the "Little General" has come to tuscaloosa and Bama Nation is pumped and ready!!
