Call it a "unsexy" hire, but would Travis Ford at OK State be a possible quiet candidate for us? He has ties to the South having played at Kentucky and coached small colleges in Kentucky prior to UMass and OK State. He makes $1.3 million right now, so I know we could pull him away for more money if that was his driving force and especially with people on here throwing around a $3 million offer number to other coaches on the hot board. I'm not sure of his situation at OK State or if he would consider it a regression to come to Bama though since he is in a better basketball conference right now, but it might be someone to look into for stability in the program. He seems to have had moderate success on a long-term everywhere he has been.
