Hoops 🏀 Rapid Reaction: Alabama Falls to Purdue

Didn’t get to watch the Bama game last night so I watched it this morning. Here are some takeaways:

1) Philon is special and their best player right now.

2) They attacked Sears perfectly by funneling and doubling him.

3) Reid has to start over Stevenson.

4) The defense had lapses at times, but Purdue hit tough shots as well. Thought the defense was fine.

5) Offensively, the chemistry is just off. Youngblood coming back will help, but have to find a way to right the ship.

6) It is tough to win on the road against great teams

Illinois in Birmingham on Wednesday.

Football 🏈 How Zabien Brown ended Alabama's defensive-touchdown drought

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama’s defense is officially on the board. It took 10 games and nearly two dozen turnovers, but the Crimson Tide’s Swarm D finally found the end zone during Saturday’s 52-7 victory over Mercer.

No. Alabama (8-2) entered the weekend leading the SEC with 21 takeaways. However, unlike recent years, the Tide wasn’t able to turn any of those into points.

That changed in early in the second quarter on Saturday when freshman cornerback Zabien Brown scooped up a loose ball and scooted 68 yards down the right sideline.

Florida beats LSU- Napier working!

I’m not sure why other than I felt like he did a good job at Bama but I’ve always liked Napier. Florida has stuck it out with him when most would have fired him. They are getting better and better. I think they would have beat Georgia if the QB wouldn’t have got hurt. Just outscored LSU 14-3 in the 4th to win and didn’t even storm the field. I’m pulling for him to get it turned around enough to where he can always beat Georgia and never beat Bama! He may have a QB too with the young kid, which is obviously the biggest of all deals.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — No drama, no injuries and not much of a contest. No. 10 Alabama made it through its yearly FCS matchup without any worries, as it blew out Mercer 52-7 on Saturday.

What if Milroe got injured Saturday?

Would we have a running game without Milroe? In my opinion that’s what we need to work on against Mercia. If I set across the table from Sheridan I would ask him what are you doing to prepare your offense if Milroe goes down?
Do you have a running game in place to make 1st downs if needed. You are the OC for the crimson tide and you have to be ready for any scenario that may face your offense. You do not have an opportunity to loss based on circumstances. You have a presence to represent the greatest program in college football so that means you have to be prepared.
