“First and foremost, I’d say make the right decision,” Omoruyi said of his advice to players in the portal. “A lot of people go for the money. I wanted to win. That’s why I picked Alabama as my school.

“You can tell most of the guys that went for the money, they didn’t make it. They didn’t go on a run or get to be a part of a great season like I did. So I’m just happy I picked ’Bama.”

Hoops 🏀 Tony's takes: A to-do list for Alabama basketball this offseason

Let the arms race begin for Alabama basketball. In today's column, I provide Nate Oats and his staff with a to-do list for the next few weeks.

Hoops 🏀 Takeaways: Alabama’s season comes to an end

No. 1 seed Duke sends No. 2 seed Alabama packing one game shy of the Final Four. Some takeaways from the game:

— Duke’s efficient shot making sinks Tide
— Tide unable to follow up on hot shooting night
— Blue Devils Length, effort plays end Alabama’s season

Hoops 🏀 Everything Nate Oats said after Alabama’s loss to Duke in the Elite Eight

What Nate Oats said after Alabama's season-ending loss to Duke in the Elite Eight.

“Duke is as good a team as we've seen all year. We've got some really good teams in the SEC, and they're at that level, and it wasn't meant to be for us tonight.”

Hoops 🏀 Mark Sears wraps up historic career for Alabama, leaves a lasting legacy

It might not have been the storybook ending Sears was hoping for. But the new heights Mark Sears has taken Alabama will define his legacy after an outstanding three-year career.

"To be able to represent the University of Alabama, the state of Alabama, it’s something that I’m very proud of.”

BAMA 6 UGA 5 Softball!

Great win for our Ladies!
Yes we are not the same program that we used to be! But we were one of the top 5 or so softball programs for Decades!
I read all this negativity about Coach Murphy, some of it may be deserved, but look what he has done for softball for BAMA in almost three decades!
Most D1 Programs Women’s Basketball would and should be the most popular and money making women’s program! But NOT at BAMA!
For the past 25 years Gymnastics and Softball have carried the women’s banner!
Why because we had great coaches and coaches who promoted their teams!
Why is Women’s Basketball so far behind?
#1 Our Head Coach! Kristy Curry has NEVER promoted our Basketball program! Not once have I seen or heard beat the bushes like Coach Patterson or Coach Murphy have!
She does not deserve the cachet that our Softball or Gymnastics teams have earned!
Her non SEC schedule is beyond laughable!
If the best we can hope for is a few NCAA tournaments and getting to the second round is acceptable then we are not real BAMA sports supporters!
I had to get this off my chest! You want to put down an All-Time BAMA Coach and not complain about a never was Coach! Fine but I expect more from our Sports Programs especially Basketball!
