Flip side on baseball story

Not following very closely, but read the report today that the bettor was a high school coach at the reds stadium and was on phone with coach.

So, what if he just told the guy, “man, we’re screwed today. Pitcher hurt his back and we don’t have another starter”

Then the guy takes that info and tries to make himself a quick Buck.

Even if he told him knowing what he’s doing, inside information isn’t illegal in sports betting.

I’m Just saying, if the school fired him for cause to avoid paying his contract and this is the case he could end up suing the school…. More headaches and bad press.

This could be totally off base. just seems like a possibility. trying to give him some credit towards not being a total dumb ass.

University of Alabama Graduates 83 Student-Athletes During 2023 Spring Commencement

As graduation gets underway at The University of Alabama this weekend, a total of 83 Crimson Tide student-athletes will celebrate earning their degrees during the spring semester.

The 83 University of Alabama student-athletes are slated to earn 86 undergraduate and graduate degrees this weekend. The Tide's tally includes two NCAA champions, 11 All-Americans and four CSC Academic All-Americans.

This year's spring graduates also include student-athletes who were part of CFP National Championship squads and multiple Southeastern Conference Championships in men’s and women’s cross country, football, gymnastics, men's basketball, soccer and softball.

Additionally, NCAA Champions Bobby Colantonio Jr. (men’s track and field) and Kensey McMahon (women’s swimming and diving), and NFCA Pitcher of the Year Montana Fouts (softball) helped highlight the Crimson Tide's May graduates.

Two-time CFP National Champion Ronnie Harrison, who just completed his fifth season in the NFL, and former MLB pitcher Adam Morgan returned to Tuscaloosa to receive their diploma after earning degrees this spring.

Among the Crimson Tide's 86 degrees, there are 55 bachelor's and 31 master's, with men’s basketball’s Adam Cottrell and rowing’s Gianna Rucki coming away with a pair of degrees. Each took advantage of the University's Accelerated Master's Program (AMP), allowing them to earn both a bachelor's and master's degree, concurrently. Additionally, women’s swimming and diving’s Jocelyn Fisher took home a pair of undergraduate degrees this spring.

The Crimson Tide's May Graduates Include:

  • Four student-athletes are graduating this weekend after earning both All-America and CSC Academic All-America honors during their UA careers: Kalia Antoniou (women’s swimming and diving), Cam Auerbach (men’s swimming and diving), Montana Fouts (softball), Riley Mattingly Parker (soccer)
  • Other All-Americans graduating include: Flomena Asekol (women’s track and field), Bobby Colantonio Jr. (men’s track and field), Makarri Doggette (gymnastics), Chelsea Igberaese (women’s track and field), Kensey McMahon (women’s swimming and diving), Matt Menke (men’s swimming and diving) and Grady Shiflet (men’s track and field)

Combined with the 25 graduates who earned degrees following the fall semester, the Crimson Tide has seen 108 of its student-athletes take home diplomas during the current academic year, a total that will rise when the summer commencement list is announced in August.

Baseball elephant in the room,,,,

How many games did Bo bet on Alabama to lose?
Again/ I follow games closely. Can think of at least a half dozen games where the Bama starter was pulled early ( 4th or 5th inning) when pitching very well and had a relatively low pitch count. Bama led in many of those games and ended up losing due to lack of middle relief or quality bullpen.

Awful to think about what MIGHT have happened

Alabama baseball going back to 'business as usual' amid betting scandal

Alabama baseball interim head coach Jason Jackson said the team is going back to "business as usual" amid the gambling controversy that led to the firing of Brad Bohannon.

"This is what we told our guys, 'Our day-to-day is going to be the same.'"

Report: 'Suspicious' bettor was a former high school coach
