A Lil Bama vs Dawgs perspective ...

A friend reminded me of this:

Dawgs have beaten us once since 2008!
1-7 against us since then!
We lead the All-time series 42-26-4!
We have 18 NCs, Dawgs have 4

It was just a couple of years ago when most of college football had called Clemson the new dynasty and Dabo the new king of coaching! I'm sure not ready to crown the Dawgs and Kirby.

And the way Pollock and others have been overtly "bold" I'm thinking they have just poked the Bear, ur ... Saban!

Hell hath no fury like a Coach Saban scorned!

'We all bleed the same blood': Clowney unfazed by the college game

Noah Clowney on his mindset out on the floor.

"At the end of the day, I don't care if they are 280, 250, 160, we all bleed the same blood."

saban class act in HR

Of all the accolades for Saban over the years, you rarely hear any mention of how well he protects the careers of his dismissed employees. From Applewhite to Golding, his care is remarkable and impressive. He always preps a soft landing and keeps their career paths open. Close exception Kiffin's "firing" before title game but he did that to himself.

of course, there is all the rehab work you hear more about (e.g. Foster, Sark) but more impressed how he doesn't screw departures. That helps recruiting new staff as well. Hard to work for him but he makes sure you have a chance at a career if you dont work out

Alabama DC Pete Golding leaving for same job at Ole Miss

Pete Golding, Alabama's defensive coordinator for the past five seasons, is leaving to become the defensive coordinator at Ole Miss, Tide Illustrated has learned.

Kentucky AD Barnhart

Is apparently at odds with the University President and with Calipari according to reports and is hindering Calipari from hiring personnel that are qualified hence adding to some of Kentucky's woos this year. Also Calipari raised over 30 mil for a new practice facility and Barnhardt is dragging his feet in building. Seems as if Barnhart carries a pretty big stick in Big Blue Country whereas he is bucking the President and Calipari.

Staff changes

Here's what I've heard from someone with the much tossed around "inside info". I think pretty reliable since it's coming from a coach that the source knows. Bo wants to come back and wants to bring a GA with him. Roach is considering the NFL with Demeco Ryans, (this is the decision that makes all this happen). Golden most likely to Ole Miss and has asked Bo to join him but if Bo leaves UT it will be to go back to Bama. This source says that Nick has told PG to find something else and has no idea about new OC or DC. Don't y'all love off season discussion topics?

Thoughts on Alabama Dominating #15 Arkansas 84-69

I don't like mentioning I am right a lot (because I am not), but I told you all in my scout notes that Arkansas was a poor shooting team. They shot 2-10 from 3 and 65% from the FT line. Alabama's sag defense worked extremely well and their length caused so many problems. The refs made most of the game about them with 45 combined fouls called and 59 free throws shot, but overall it was a very competitive game.

In the first half, Arkansas faceguarded Brandon Miller and he didn't half a single shot attempt, yet was tied 33-33. Nate Oats made an awesome adjustment on getting Miller the ball more, and he ended up with 14 points on 4 shots. Mark Sears is incredible. He shot 10-10 from the FT line and scored 26 points with 3 steals. He has become a very good two way player and has carried the team at times. Noah Clowney also played a great game, especially when Bediako picked up his 4th foul in the second half. He led a mini-run that put Alabama back up by 11 and it never got close again.

Alabama is a better team all-around than Arkansas and you saw that tonight. They're deeper, more talented, and can shoot a lot better as well. You just had to hope the stage wasn't too big for them, but they have been battle tested so much that this doesn't faze them anymore. What a win for the Tide.
