Football 🏈 Why Kendrick Law is Alabama's 'junkyard dog'

Don't let the stats fool you. Kendrick Law has played a big part in Alabama's offense this season.

“He’s going to be that junkyard dog that you’re looking for and give us the opportunity to have success in a variety of ways.” — JaMarcus Shephard

3 most disappointing Bama football loses pre Saban

FYI…I started watching Bama football in ‘78.

1. Auburn ‘89 - the first game at Jordan Hare. We came into the game undefeated, and after the miracle blocked FG against Penn St, this seemed like a team of destiny. Great Cinderella season, with Gary Hollingsworth replacing the injured Jeff Dunn at the beginning of the season, which everyone thought was the end of our season. Thought we were destined for a National Championship going into this game.

2. Penn St ‘86 - came into this game undefeated, and ranked #2, after starting the season ranked #5 and a big win over Ohio St. Thought this team was on a NC run, but we just played awful on that day.

3. Southern Miss ‘90 - coming off that exciting ‘89 season. I was prepared for another fun ride, but we lost in the first game of the season to a lessor team.

HM - USC ‘78.

I do have A LOT more good memories of W’s than L’s though.

Football 🏈 Jalen Milroe on Alabama's WRs: 'We have more talent this year'

"One thing I can say is we’re going to be very explosive on offense, and we have a lot of guys in that room that are very talented,” Milroe said. “And I truly believe that we have more talent this year than we did last year.”

Football 🏈 Reliving Nick Saban's best moments in Bryant-Denny Stadium

The field inside Bryant-Denny Stadium serves as a testament to immortality.

The “Bear” once leaned against these goalposts, and his gravelly voice still echoes out of the speakers before Alabama home games each fall. This is where Terrence Cody preserved a perfect season and where Derrick Henry resurrected a dynasty that had previously been declared dead. Amari Cooper raced down the sideline, DeVonta Smith tightroped the back of the end zone, and Bryce Young performed magic acts with his escapability in the pocket.

Most notably, this is where Nick Saban coached.

Alabama has won 249 games inside Bryant-Denny Stadium since it opened in 1929. Saban owns 108 of those over his 17 seasons in charge of the Crimson Tide. During that span, he also racked up six national titles, nine SEC championships and a pair of undefeated seasons. He coached four Heisman Trophy winners and produced 133 NFL draft picks, including 47 first-rounders.

Those are the stats we use to define Saban’s greatness, but his immortal status in Crimson Tide lore is built on memories. As Alabama prepares to dedicate the field inside Bryant-Denny Stadium to Saban this weekend, here’s a look back at a few of the legendary head coach’s best moments inside the hallowed ground.

Georgia

Yes, Georgia had clunking W against Kentucky but it’s what they do. Regular season we have seen this movie. But when the lights are bright they bring the wood. Yes Alabama & Coach Saban were a pain in their ass. But the one they did win was the National Championship. Damn that 4th quarter they punished Alabama.

Now they are coming to Tuscaloosa. Fallen now #2 in the polls. Highly motivated to get their revenge for Alabama crushing their 3 peat dreams. Prove they can beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa, their Coach’s former home. And reestablish their Championship swagger.

Let me ask you which defense which would you rather have? Which offense? Which Special Teams & finally which Coaching staff?

Alabama must be mentally & physically prepared for this heavyweight fight September 28th.

Football 🏈 How Alabama, Georgia are preparing for next week's top-five matchup

The upcoming matchup between No. 4 Alabama and No. 2 Georgia will draw plenty of attention over the next two weeks. However, neither team has yet to shift their focus on preparing for the other as they both face open dates on their schedule this week.

During Wednesday’s SEC teleconference Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer and Georgia head coach Kirby Smart were both asked how they are preparing their teams for next week’s top-five clash next week inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Football Recruiting Keelon Russell headed back to Tuscaloosa

Alabama quarterback commit Keelon Russell will be back in Tuscaloosa next weekend for the Georgia game. This will be Russell's first gameday visit as a commit and he'll be joined by a bunch of his fellow 2025 pledges.

Will have a full visitors list dropping on Saturday, but thought I'd drop an early mention for the future QB1.

Football Recruiting Note on four-star safety Ivan Taylor

Tide Illustrated has confirmed that Taylor will visit Alabama for the Georgia game. Alabama was a major contender when Taylor was initially committed to Notre Dame and got him on campus for an OV on June 11. Taylor flipped to Michigan on July 8 but the Crimson Tide has stayed in the mix here. Taylor has a long relationship with safeties coach Colin Hitschler, who recruited Taylor heavily at Wisconsin.

Taylor is the son of former Steelers great Ike Taylor. Saftey is a positon of need for Alabama.

Bama fans when #19 Koht on defense puts it all together, that man will be a menace in the field.

He went inside on a twist and van dyke escaped the pocket to the right and was 25 yards apart from Koht who chased him down, made the tackle from behind on the sideline, and unfortunately van dyke was injured on the play. My eyes were opened on that play. I had read that other players were saying about this young man and that play revealed a future star.
