Football Recruiting Western Kentucky visitors list

I'll continue to update as the week goes on and more visitors are added. If the summer is anything to go on, Alabama will make the most of each of its home games this season.

Hoops 🏀 Struggling to adjust...

I can understand Joe Lunardi's (ESPN) Bracketology having some big names on the bubble...Oregon, USC, Villanova, Pitt, Rutgers, Miami, Louisville, Wisconsin and the list goes on. I haven't been able to completely get my head around his number one seeds. Alabama, Duke, Kansas, & Houston. I really like it, but it's an adjustment. Roll Tide!

Pick the Winners Week One

We will do this as long as people are interested. The object is simple, pick the winners of twelve games, on a weekly basis. The tie breaker will be game 12, where we will pick the score, the leading rusher for the winning team and his yardage. I try not to list FCS-FBS games and I try to list SEC games first. Don't be afraid to be embarrassed, as there will be no ridicule, as I am usually worse. This should be called Krispy Kreme Saturday, as most games, outside the SEC are creme puffs, and Tennessee, Auburn, Ole Miss and State have no room to talk.

If you think picking the winners is easy, last week I was the best at 5-2 and was the only one to get the Georgia Tech-FSU game right.

I cut it off at 11:00 a.m. Central.

1. Boston College at Florida State (Monday)

2. Miami(Ohio) at Northwestern

3. Penn State at West Virginia

4. Southern Cal vs LSU in Las Vegas (Sunday)

5. Clemson vs. Georgia in Atlanta

6. Virginia Tech at Vanderbilt

7. Colorado State at Texas

8. Miami(Fla) at Florida

9. Old Dominion at South Carolina

10. Notre Dame at Texas A&M

11. Southern Miss at Kentucky

12. Western Kentucky at Alabama (pick the Score, leading rusher for the winning team and his yardage.)

I landed a big-time commitment this weekend

I proposed to my girlfriend, Katie Windham, over the weekend, and she said yes! Shoutout to Patrick Murphy for helping me pull off the proposal.

Katie covers Alabama as well. She's a Montgomery native and an Alabama grad.

How quickly will Bammers turn on Coach Debo if he loses 3 SEC games..

Yes I’m expecting 3 losses, hoping for 0.. but a new coach, new system, new team, new demands, and a new conference is a lot of hills to climb. Factor in injuries, and the grind of the season. Coach Debo getting a taste of the SEC every single week. Will he air it out or be balanced? Milroe is still our best and only shot at a Natty.. but he’s not Pinnix throwing at shitty PAC defenses. I do however like this for Milroe (win or lose) because this is gonna be how he’s used in the NFL. Spread em out, get yards in chunks from the air or with legs. Milroe has proved he can make every throw and has a cannon. But playing air raid offense provides opportunities to throw more picks. IMO Coach Debo will use that massive OL to run the ball 60% and throw 40%.. more throws on 1st down, more throws downfield, and a faster offensive tempo. He also has an advantage as the mystery guy to all other SEC coaches. They don’t know what he’s gonna do just like I don’t. Hopefully Saban helps him with teams like Georgia and we save some secrets.

What’s yalls expectations for this season?

Day 1 in Tuscaloosa

I had my first day in Tuscaloosa today and me and my friends have had a great time so far! Everyone is very friendly. The staff at The Alamite are amazing. We walked around a bit and I did some shopping for additional BAMA gear. @Tony_Tsoukalas I had to stop in at Sessions for a drink after dinner bcuz your weekly articles and cocktails sound too delicious and they did not disappoint! The Espresso Martini was divine and the service was excellent. And yes I told them I stopped in bcuz of Tide Illustrated and your weekly articles. Can’t wait for the game tomorrow! ROLL TIDE!!!

Football 🏈 Staff predictions: Our picks for Alabama vs. Western Kentucky

Alabama will kick off the Kalen DeBoer era tonight as it takes on Western Kentucky at 6 p.m. CT inside Bryant-Denny Stadium. The No. 5 Crimson Tide is a 32-point favorite over the Hilltoppers, according to the Caesars Sportsbook.

Alabama has won its three previous meetings against WKU. The Tide took the first meeting, 41-7, in 2008 before shutting out the Hilltoppers, 35-0, in 2012. The last meeting between the two schools came in 2016 when Alabama recorded a 38-10 victory inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Here’s how Tide Illustrated’s staff thinks the game will play out.

1st line of defense, or secondary?

Nothing wrong with recruiting secondary players. Nick Saban was one of the best at recruiting secondary players. That where he lived. But, in about all the championship games that I remember a defensive tackle, or nose guard stoled the show to win the championship game. So why isn’t recruiting a nose guard, or defensive tackle not more important than recruiting secondary players? Can someone explain this in a way that people can understand it.

Al Bell

I want to thank everyone that made the countdown fun this year. If the good Lord is willing and the creeks don’t rise, maybe Kelly will let us do it again next year. Special thanks to the Mayor, Pops, TommyBear and others. As many know this has been a trying summer for me. There has been a reason I had to do the countdown this year. A special thanks to the Lord for letting me see the kickoff. I’ve felt like a pin cushion the last few weeks, but this to shall pass.

Now it’s time to hand this off to the Mayor of Snellville for the Roll Call.

I love you guys and I have one thing to say, Roll Tide Roll.
