TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama moved indoors Tuesday as it held its second practice in preparation for its Citrus Bowl matchup against Michigan on Jan. 1. Players were dressed in full pads for the workout. Here are some notes from the media viewing period.

— With Alabama moving indoors, we got a better look at Trey Sanders as he continued to work with the running backs. The five-star freshman was moving well but was wearing a black jersey and had on shoes instead of cleats. Monday, head coach Nick Saban said Sanders was cleared for on-field work but isn’t expected to play in the Citrus Bowl.

— Najee Harris led the running backs followed by Brian Robinson Jr., Trey Sanders, Chadarius Townsend, Keilan Robinson with Jerome Ford bringing up the rear.

— Injured defensive tackle D.J. Dale (knee) was absent again. Saban said the freshman is doubtful for the Citrus Bowl.

“D.J. Dale has not responded very well to treatment and medications to try and get him in position where he might be able to play in this game,” Saban said.

— DeVonta Smith continues to be limited during practice. He stood to the side as the rest of the receivers when through drills.

— Linebacker Dylan Moses (ACL) and defensive end LaBryan Ray (foot) were both seen leaving the indoor practice field before the viewing period. Both players were dressed out while wearing black jerseys.

— Injured kicker/punter Will Reichard (hip) was also seen leaving the field before practice.

— With Smith out, Henry Ruggs III and Tyrell Shavers led the outside receivers while Jerry Jeudy led the slot receivers. Ruggs was followed by John Metchie III, while Shavers was trailed by Xavier Williams. Jeudy was followed by Jaylen Waddle and Slade Bolden.

— Miller Forristall led the tight ends followed by Major Tennison, Cameron Latu, Jahleel Billingsley and Giles Amos.

— Patrick Surtain led the cornerbacks and was followed by Josh Jobe, Jalyn Armour-Davis, Marcus Banks and Brandon Turnage.

— Xavier McKinney led the safeties and was followed by Jared Mayden, Shyheim Carter, Jordan Battle and Daniel Wright. Eddie Smith and DeMarcco Hellams were there, but the drill ended before I could see their order.
