I remember when many (not all) were all over his case about his play, even though he was playing through injury and really was out of position. I remember CNS specifically saying "Eddie is going to be a good player for us one day. Don't let expectations ruin the guy". And some fans wouldn't let up and some fans gave up. Now, he has absolutely solidified his place in all of UA history as an all-time great player and an all-time fan favorite. The guy did it the right way, as far as I know, all of the time. I remember when he apologized for his admittedly poor play in the AU game. He took it to heart. He was dedicated, respected, etc. He was was a model of what Saban wants his players to be. He was Rashaad Johnson all over again, and that's some pretty good stuff. The lesson for ALL of us, myself included, is that it is incredibly rare for a freshman/sophomore to be a finished product and dominate, irrespective of the position. We gotta give the young'uns time. Thank you Mr. Jackson.
