This game I remember. It was a dull boring game on Labor Day, the first game of the season. Neither team could do anything. Alabama had the game on as long as they didn’t do anything stupid. Well, they did something stupid. They allowed Georgia to block a punt with 50 seconds left on the clock. They batted the ball into the end zone, covered it up for the touchdown. They piled up 6 foot high in the end zone in celebration. That final minute is a must see for the diehard ALABAMA fan. It’s absolutely hilarious watching Georgia celebrate as if the game was over. Mike Shula, which was usually cool as a cucumber and This time was no different. I think he threw five passes and 35 seconds later he hit Al Bell in the end zone for the go ahead touchdown. You can find this on YouTube. There’s a video that basically covers the final minute, it won’t take very long and it’s an absolute must see.
