Transfer Portal Watch List

Why don’t they wait to open the portal after the tournament? Teams in the tournament are preparing and teams that aren’t in are hosting these portal kids on visits.

Do we lose anyone besides Clowney, Miller, JQ and Gurley? I know we have one open spot on the roster and four incoming players already.

Assuming JQ does not come back, we need a ball handler to go along with Sears and Bradley. I think we have one coming in, but we could use an older player.

I really think Clowney could use another year, but if he projects as a one, he has to make the financial decision.

I think that Sears, Burnett, Bediako, Pringle, Griffen, and Bradley give us an excellent start to next season.

Isn't Welch a Sr?

It’s just as important that the portal players see teams participating in the NCAA tournament. That’s where they want to be next year.
Spend some more time around kids this age. Regardless, doesn’t make sense. They can watch tournament teams and then be allowed to get in the portal. Regardless, teams will get kids before some of these tournament teams get a real crack at them.

Bump. Been seeing a lot of other names thrown out there. Anybody else mentioning Bama?

Gotta think somebody on staff is working the portal hard this week with a little extra time between games.
I know the football staff has certain people for the portal and such. Does one certain person do that for basketball?

I still pray JQ returns, and I am not as convinced that Clowney leaves as others, but we don’t have another ball handler presently coming in, so if JQ does not return, we will need one.

If bediako throws together more double doubles he could get his number called…

Clowney might be drafted for his potential but he’s been playing well as of late.

If a young man projects as a first round pick and the NBA is where he wants to be, I don't think there is a head coach around that would tell the young man to stay. If Clowney returns, the only reason will be that Clowney think that another year will make him a lottery pick as opposed to a First Round Pick. Power Forwards that can defend, shoot and play defense, make a lot of money and last a long time in the NBA. So Long Clowney, we loved having you this year and we hope you will come back to visit after the Rookie All Star game next season, before the NBA season resumes. The only difference between Miller and Clowney is that Miller will be super Rich in August and Clowney will be very Rich in July.

I just hope, for Clowney’s sake, he makes the right decision. If he is guaranteed to be a 1st rd pick, then I certainly understand him leaving, but if he is not, I think it may be best for him to return. Some of these players leave with unrealistic expectations, like Kennedy Winston. I wouldn’t wish that upon the young man.

Q is 24, and I believe he will go make some money in NBA or Europe. He has put in his time. I believe Clowney will be early first round draft pick after some of the workouts he will do. Maybe like Primo without the showing of his penis.

IMO...one of the worst decisions ever by a Bama basketball player to go pro early was made by Rod Grizzard. He was a 6-8 guard at a time when 6-8 guards were unheard of. Grizzard had a super high ceiling because he could handle the basketball, pass it, rebound it and shoot it from almost half court. All he needed was another year to improve the consistency of his ball handling and his shot percentage and I think he could have been a very high first round pick.

nowadays a big factor is how much nil money they are making. clowney and q both have nil deals but i don`t know how much they make.

6’7 stretch wing shooting 37% from 3 and 80% from FT.

Bama needs to follow FAU’s and KSU’s coaches around to see who they are after …

of course KSU has all transfer players and FAU has a bunch of guards that can handle the ball and shoot your eyes out.

And, in my opinion, either one of those teams would beat SDSU

with maybe just 2 available spots and oats looking at guards, that might mean rj johnson will not be here.
I have seen speculation on other sites that Johnson won't be on scholarship even if he is here next season. Not sure about the validity of those statements, but that's what i have read.

My friend unless things have changed, if he has signed a LOI we have to honor it unless there are issuses of off the court matters. l'm a little ignorant here because l'm not sure if he has signed or not. l want to say he committed after the first signing period, but l may be wrong.
