I'm trying to talk my oldest son, who is being recruited by a couple of Ivy schools to play football, to give them a lot more consideration over the current Group of 5 schools that's showing him some interest right now.
I pretty much had to force him to do the virtual tour of with the Princeton coaches this weekend, which he ended up liking. But he still has his mind set on going to a school like Troy or Middle Tennessee State, which are also showing interest, mainly for the football.
Of course if he has a good enough senior season that allows him to get an offer from a Power 5 school, I won't stand in his way, but I would much rather he end up at Princeton or Penn if that's not the case.
So how would you steer him without forcing him to do something he wants to do? I know what his dreams are, but I also know what graduating from a school like this could do for him.
