Two years ago, Alabama went into Norman for an early game on Saturday and had the worst performance of the season.

Two years later, much of the same.

In the end, this game doesn’t mean anything in terms of achieving their goal of winning the SEC, but there are startling trends that need to be fixed. 1) Alabama has lost its shooting touch, which happens over a long season at some point. 2) They have forgotten how to defend a ball screen. Both were exposed today.

Noah Clowney is 0-21 in his last 21 three point attempts and Jaden Bradley has disappeared. You knew they would hit the freshman wall and it has arrived. They have to push past it at some point for this team to get back to their elite level.

Give OU credit, they whipped Alabama in every facet. They hit every shot they took and defended very well on Alabama’s screen action. They really iced the action and forced Alabama’s players to make individual plays. Sherfield and Hill were phenomenal for OU. They needed a signature win after nearly beating Kansas and UT, and they came out and deserved it.

Alabama travels back home to take on Vandy and then travel to LSU next weekend. A little soft spot of the schedule where hopefully Alabama can start getting back to their old selves.

They have struggled the past 2 games, but they’ve been dominant since before Christmas. No need for overreactions on a small sample size. This team will be fine.

What about Charlie Strong for DC?

History repeats itself! Because in 2020-2021 season Bama lost at Oklahoma just to go on to win the SEC, SEC tournament, and a trip to the Sweet 16! Clean up those issues and get back to business! RTR! 💪🏽💪💪🏿

Got an offer from Bama yesterday. Out of Clanton AL. Listed as an athlete but watched some of his highlights and looks like a beast on defense. Committed to Georgia but hopefully CNS and crew can persuade him to join the good guys. How you see it playing out Tony?

Says they are still a 1 seed and just behind Purdue as top seed based solely on win at Houston. Right the ship and get their groove back. Long way to go.

I realize we have as good a team as anyone in the country. BUT, does anyone have the trouble we do
inbounding the ball? for decades it seems this has been the worst part of Bama BB. My thought is have a taller guy throw it in . The guards don't seem to see the court. Again, I am not the coach but it sure is frustrating. I hope this doesn't cost us in a close game. RTR

So Bediako is just weak. He seems to be regressing. Why doesn’t Pringle play more? We are just not a tough team inside. If a 7 footer gets a 2 foot shot blocked there are concerns.

Side note. I am so disgusted in our effort. Miller was just flat out lazy today.

The nine-game winning streak came to an end in Norman as Oklahoma crushed No. 2 Alabama 93-69 on Saturday.

Here are three takeaways from Alabama's blowout loss to Oklahoma.

Is he a possibility as an on the field staff member/recruiting coordinator? He has coached and recruited a lot of great players at Clemson. I know he failed as a head coach(so did J. Pruitt) but he has a lot of WR experience and has coached with a really good Duel Threat QB. I think Clemson took him back as an analyst…so he is getable. If Holman Wiggins left wouldn’t Scott be a good fit?

Is there a limit to the stupidity of Tennessee and their homerism? UT recently played UConn and lost significantly. I couldn’t believe the comments about it. Geno was really upset about the officiating at halftime. The article read “he embarrassed himself“ so I’m expecting he really pitched a fit and got thrown out of the game etc. it was short rant at halftime. Nothing to see. One UT fan said he’s really not that good that’s why no one has tried to hire him. I responded with “the guys has more championships than anyone with 11. Summit has eight. “He’s not that good”. ???

They don't have a great record and they had one really bad loss. Several of their losses however have been very tight. l think they had very close losses to Kansas and Kansas State. They are capable of beating most teams under tomorrows circumstances.

We are coming in ranked #2. They will be fired up and so will the crowd. They'll have 'em hanging off the rafters. l really like our team and have confidence in them. l also think the scare we got at home from Miss. State should help us. l do believe our 3 point shooting will need to improve for us to win this game though.
