Moved Pregame meet: Mugshots Bar and Grill 10:30 Tomorrow, prior to game

What would you think about those that can, meet at Caseys Sports Bar at 11:00 Saturday, for a few minutes before the game. They open at 11:00. I'm coming from Montgomery and have to pick up my son first, but I am all for meeting posters and knocking down a beer. If Milso would come, I would even pay for his Jim Beam. (limit 3). Milso likes his Jim Beam.

Post if you are game.

Alabama head coach Nate Oats explained why the team's practice ran long before its rematch with No. 15 Gonzaga.

Bryce Young and Will Anderson to play in Sugar Bowl

Alabama expects its stars to play in its Sugar Bowl matchup against Kansas State later this month. According to a report from ESPN’s Chris Low, Nick Saban said that the Crimson Tide isn’t expecting any of its players to opt out of the bowl game. That includes quarterback Bryce Young and edge rusher Will Anderson Jr., who are expected to be top-10 picks in next year’s NFL Draft.

I've decided to look at recruiting only after players have signed, NIL and

TP have officially ruined recruiting for me. 2 year players pimping themselves out, ego maniacal high schoolers (who have done absolutely nothing) walking around demanding $$, I'm out. I will always watch all the games and pull for our guys in NFL, but I'm done with pimps and whores. I trust CNS and feel sorry for him having to put up with all this crap. Hope he doesn't start feeling like I do. RTR

Football 🏈 Everything Nick Saban said after Alabama's first postseason practice

Football is back for another few weeks as Alabama prepares for its Sugar Bowl matchup against Kansas State. Here's everything Nick Saban said during his Friday press conference.

— "I was really impressed with the attitude that the players came back with today. Everybody seems to be taking a serious approach."

— "I think Will and Bryce coming back to play the game speaks volumes of the kind of culture that we have in the program," Nick Saban said with Bryce Young and Will Anderson opting to play in the Sugar Bowl.

— Saban on Kansas State: "This is a good old fashioned, well-coached, disciplined, tough, good football team. ... They could make an argument that they beat a team in the playoffs and maybe they should be in playoffs."

— Saban on no opt-outs: "I'm extremely proud of these guys. We're gonna support them in every way that we can. As an institution, we've minimized the risk of them playing in the game by insuring them the best that we possibly can so that they're not taking a big risk by playing."

Tidebits 🐘 TideBits, pres. by The Rogue Shop: Quieter weekend ahead, but big decisions coming for top Alabama targets

RogueShop.png
Good morning.

My apologies, as I was waiting to hear back from a couple of sources and it got to be too late to post last night.

When you read this, there will be well under a week to go until the beginning of the early signing period.

Some of the drama has been taken out of next week, with Arion Carter off the board to Tennessee, Reuben Bain to Miami, and Samson Okunlola to Miami as well.

The drama continues to build up in the recruitment of five-star Kadyn Proctor, and a visit this weekend would be a great sign for Alabama's chances to flip the Nation's No. 1 OT prospect according to Rivals.

The Alabama staff have been to Iowa multiple times this month, and despite Proctor's commitment to Iowa he has been receptive to their approach.

He will be on campus this weekend with his family.

Also on campus will be five-star Ga. S Caleb Downs, a long-time commitment that many had been working to flip for months. Downs has shut down his recruitment, similar to the way RB commit Justice Haynes did the same this week, canceling in-home visits with both Ohio State and Georgia.

Despite losing out on both Bain and Carter earlier this week, the anticipated close for Alabama is a strong one.

Downs- Locked in, recruitment shut down
Haynes- Locked in, recruitment shut down
Proctor- Visiting this weekend
Ricks- Trending upwards, was included in my latest class projection prior to the Alabama visit. LSU visit this weekend could shake things up
Smith & Russaw- FutureCasts have been entered by the Tide Illustrated staff for Alabama to land
Hasz- Trending upwards, Arkansas did just hire a TE coach though, this weekend will be telling

A full, final class-prediction will be uploaded on Tuesday here. Surely there will be no more drama between now and then?

Terrance Cody type guy

Is there really not a place for a guy kinda like him? Maybe not to that extreme but a space eater than can eat a couple blocks and allow the defense to put less in the box on running downs and really play the run? I’m not sure what our numbers were against the run but it seems like we were hurt against Tennessee and LSU with the run. Auburn ran it for a ton of yards I believe. If we are going to play some 1-4-6, we need that 1 to be a man.

This team has a HUGE heart

A team dominated by freshmen and a sophomore have stood up to some of the bluest of blue blood teams in the game. They have fought through adversity and played some of their best basketball when things looked bleak. They seem to have great culture and thanks to Sears and Quinerly often play with the poise of a veteran team. NOW THE REALITY, we won't know how good they really are until they hit the road on conference games. My bet is they'll survive and do well and ultimately be recognized as our best "Team" since the Sprewell, Horry and Robinson days.
