Old, Old, Very Old Farts Only

l doubt there are many and maybe none on this board that remember Marlon(Scooter) Dyess and Mack Wise. They were the half-backs on Coach Bryant's first 2 teams--'58 and '59--. Mr Mack Wise is a close friend of Pop's and he has been named Crenshaw County Citizen of the Year. Mr. Dyess is coming down to be the speaker at his honorary dinner tonight.

All of the past honorees are invited back. Pop(Milso) seldom goes, but he is going tonight of course. Pop is a former honoree (nobody has figured that one out yet) from 2005 or 2006 can't remember which. l'm going as his guest to hear Mr. Dyess speak. it should be interesting.

By the way Pop still brags about being the only ex-convict and the heaviest drinker to ever be honored.

ROLL TIDE

harper?

we recruited 6-7 shooting guard elijah fisher from canada and he signed with texas tech and didn`t play much his freshman year for whatever reason and has hit the portal. coach hodgson was probably the one that recruited him. i was wondering if we had any interest in him and him in us? i remember him being very athletic and highly rated.

Help Me If I'm Wrong, but We Really Need Pringle to Stay

With what we have coming back, what we have signed to come in, and what we seem to be recruiting somebody please help me here. @Jordan Harper @mr4bama

Are we gonna have anybody on our team that can guard a big man that is a good scorer besides Bedikeo and hopefully Pringle? Chuck is often in foul trouble and if he were to get hurt Pringle is our only other opition when it comes to guarding a high scoring big man. Last year we could fall back on Clowney, Gurley, or sometimes Miller. l don't see anybody coming in to make up their ability to guard big men and rebound.

Count me in as one who hopes to hell Pringle stays.

I just heard a stat re bama basketball that is mind blowing but points to their struggles:

The last 9 games of the season bama shot less than 20% from the three point line… before that around the mid 30% range…

When did the slump start? About the time the revelation of two bama bball players being at the scene of the murder.

I’ve been saying it for 4 years with a lot of clap-back from posters here.

But put the freaking mid-range shot to your offense. I don’t understand the analytics geeks who want to talk about tenths of percentages as to why you don’t shoot that shot. Had Nat Oats just coached basketball and not the analytics, Alabama might be winning a championship this season.

You’re not abandoning your system, you’re adding to it and making them harder to guard. Just think of a team coming in that has to guard you on all three levels on the floor.
The analytics told Oats it was smart to foul down by 2 with 47 seconds remaining. Fück the analytics and just coach basketball.

Forbes and Gary

I posted about having some guys that you can develop and keeping them on campus and such. Those two guys are the type of guys we needed. It just looked obvious to be that Forbes could be good enough and fit. Gary is the tough type of guy we needed against SDSU. Putting too much stock this portal life can be great but eventually it’s going to bite when you miss on too many in one year. Hoping we can keep some guys around to develop.
