TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama worked outside Thursday as it participated in its 18th preseason practice. Players were dressed in shorts and shells and worked under sunny 89-degree weather. Here are some notes from the media viewing period.
— Freshman Antonio Alfano was back with the defensive linemen after missing the past three practices.
— Freshman Christian Harris shed the brace on his left knee and was fully participating with the rest of the inside linebackers.
— Jerome Ford (ankle) was spotted with the running backs for the first time since injuring himself during last weekend’s scrimmage.
— Alabama’s first unit on defensive line featured Raekwon Davis, Tevita Musika and LaBryan Ray. The second group consisted of Byron Young, D.J. Dale and Phidarian Mathis. Braylen Ingraham, Ishmael Sopsher and Christian Barmore were in the third group, while Justin Eboigbe and Alfano were the last to go.
— Dylan Moses led the linebackers followed by Harris, Shane Lee, Jaylen Moody, Markail Benton and Ale Kaho.
— Alabama’s first-team offensive line appeared to consist of Alex Leatherwood, Evan Neal, Chris Owens, Landon Dickerson and Jedrick Wills Jr.
— Emil Ekiyor Jr. served as the second-team center, while Matt Womack served as the second-team right guard .
— Xavier McKinney led the safeties and was followed by Jared Mayden, Shyheim Carter, Eddie Smith, Daniel Wright, DeMarcco Hellams and Jordan Battle.
