It was the annual coaches clinic today and hundreds of high school coaches surrounded the practice fields as Alabama underwent it's fourth practice of the spring. Here is what I saw during the limited viewing period.
I spent my time watching the secondary under the leadership of new assistant coach Mel Tucker and Nick Saban. With the safeties were (in no particular order): Maurice Smith, Jabriel Washington, Geno Smith, Ronnie Harrison, Deionte Thompson, Hootie Jones and Jonathan Cook.
In the nickel defense, Tony Brown was lined up at right corner with Eddie Jackson at left corner. Gene Smith was the free safety, Hootie Jones was the strong safety and Maurice Smith and Jabriel Washington split time at Star. With the second team, Bradley Sylve was the right corner and Marlon Humphrey was at left corner.
Anthony Averett was back with the cornerbacks at working at wide receiver earlier during spring practice.
Sophomore left tackle Cam Robinson continues to work back from a sprained ankle. He rode the exercise bike during practice.
