TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — No. 5 Alabama worked outside Wednesday as it held its third practice in preparation for Saturday’s Iron Bowl against No. 15 Auburn. Players were dressed in full pads and worked under sunny, 65-degree weather. Here are some notes from the media viewing period.
— D.J. Dale (knee) appears to be limited as he stood to the side of the defensive linemen during drills. Raekwon Davis (ankle) and Phidarian Mathis (undisclosed) were both full participants and appeared to be moving well.
— Alabama’s first unit on the defensive line consisted of Davis, Mathis and Byron Young. The second group was made up of Tevita Musika, Stephon Wynn Jr. and Justin Eboigbe. Christian Barmore, Ishmael Sopsher and Braylen Ingraham were in the third group.
— Henry Ruggs (bruised ribs) continues to move well during drills and was a full participant with the rest of the receivers.
— Alabama worked Kendall Randolph as a blocking tight end with its first-team offensive line. He was deployed to the left of left tackle Alex Leatherwood. Alabama had its regular first unit on offensive line with Leatherwood, Evan Neal, Landon Dickerson, Deonte Brown and Jedrick Wills Jr. from left to right.
— The second-team offensive line consisted of Scott Lashley, Matt Womack, Chris Owens, Emil Ekiyor Jr. and Tommy Brown.
— Defensive lineman LaBryan Ray (foot) was woking on the elliptical bike in the weight room during the period.
