The dreaded Eleventh Place Finish in the SEC

With three weeks to go in the SEC basketball season there are presently eight teams sitting with a chance to end in the eleventh position, meaning that they would have to play in the five games to win the SEC tournament. That also means that there are eight SEC teams that are sitting with a .net of 53 or higher and five SEC teams sitting between 35-53, which means that if one got hot and won the last six or lost the last six that they could play their way in or out of the NCAA field. I would not even count Vandy or Georgia out if they got hot and won the last six games. I know that at the present time the experts say that Bama, UCheat, Arkansas, Auburn, Missouri and aTm are looking good for the tournament with Kentucky and State on the bubble, but at the present time I could see the SEC falling to three teams and rising to eight, depending on the last three weeks.

Right now I would say that only Alabama, Tennessee and aTm are the only teams that know that they are not going to be playing the first day of the SEC tournament.

Jalen Hurts appreciation thread

This is in no way personal! Hurts is a reincarnation of Akili Smith. He will get drafted thanks to the OU stat machine, but his inability to read defenses and accuracy issues will not fly in the league.

I would love to see anyone including JH grow, but he is so far removed currently from being a professional QB at the highest level.

OU is a godsend for JH. He has the luxury of being able to put up gaudy stats without having to read defenses or think quickly as he would having to play against legit defenses. Should help him in the draft.

I

Mayfield nor Murray will make it to a second contract in the NFL, IMO they both look bad! Maybe its bad teams I don't know! I think they are just too small and everyone is just as athletic or more so! So if you are judging successfulness off great college career and getting drafted they are successful! Great Quarterbacks long term in the NFL they will not be! Hurts might get drafted he will never be a good enough passer to make it in the NFL, (I put money on it!) Hurts is in the Tim Tebow boat imo! Tua is also small however, a better passer than the other 4 mentioned. Tua gets with the RIGHT team he might make it long term, but I would not put money on him either! NFL stands for (NOT For LONG!) Lamar Jackson, D.Prescott, D. Watson will be some of the BETTER Quarterbacks in the league as long as they can be a threat to run, because they are good passers and can run! , if and when they lose that ability to make plays with their legs, they will be done! Remember RG3?? BTW I consider a successful NFL quarterback if they get a second contract to be a starter!! Not as a back either! So I'm talking about a hand full of guys in the world!

I'll bet you want ever you want to bet. You name it.

This is not me bashing Jalen either. He's a good kid but he could throw for 5000 yards and 50 TDs and he still wouldn't be a1st rounder. Do you actually think Jalen could dissect a NFL defense and pick them apart? I hope you're trolling

Maybe The Hurts family can bring a law suit against Lincoln Riley if he promised them that Jalen Hurts would be a 1st round pick in the NFL Draft!! However, he could have meant a 1st rounder in Draft, (Canadian FB league)? Maybe he didn't specify which organization!! Did they get it in writing? Id like to have that case!! call me ALABAMA 1-800-you not a passer

LOL because Jalen just took off running, See SEC passing stats 103 129 136 97 lol 21!! Jalen is not a quarter back.. Like I said many times, you must be kin to him, dad, cuz or something? Boyfriend?

He’s not even in the top 100 prospects for the draft. This young man will be 30 living in Texas somewhere and 205 will tell us what he bought at tye grocery store. Tua will be signing his endorsement deals as Jalen is still waiting to see if he’s going to get a chance in tye league.

You want to bet you never post on this site again with Jalen going 1st round? He want even go 2nd
round

We don’t bet involving a ban for any subscriber.

I'll be bumping this next April.

He has to be drafted as a QB

I normally avoid your posts like the plague, but it’s a slow day at work.

That being said, absolutely no way Jalen is taken in the first 2 rounds.

I want you to come back on here and admit you were wrong come April 2020.

Jalen has as much of a chance as I do of playing in the NFL. Anyone arguing to the contrary is clueless, or it's all about race with them. Likely the latter. The NFL doesn't GAS that your kid is black. HTH.

Any team that takes Hurts as a q-back is very STUPID! They make take him as a project! He is good enough to be a running back or slot or something..

Well, hell if a couple mocks have him there them they must be right.

A mock has never been wrong. Amirite?

Can he throw the deep out from the pocket?

Not with any velocity or accuracy.
I wish I can find what exactly was the bet I had with @(RS)FRESHMAN but it apparently was deleted by either him or the Mods. Fun times…

Thoughts on Alabama’s Gritty Win at Auburn

Between watching my kids and getting a party together for my daughter’s first birthday, I was in and out of watching the game. What a game it was.

I just rewatched it and wow what a game. It was a physical game throughout where Auburn got the benefit of the calls in the first half, but Alabama did in the second half. If Alabama hit its free throws, it would’ve been a blowout. Give credit to Auburn hanging tough, but they just didn’t have the depth or talent to last 40 minutes against Bama.

Rylan Griffen came up huge, Mark Sears hit huge shots, and I thought Jaden Bradley played his best game in a few weeks. It was truly a team effort everywhere. Auburn was shooting well above their average for about 30 minutes of the game (you knew they would), but Alabama hung around and really attacked the rim. Alabama shot 6/21 from 3 and missed 10 FTs, but they shot 23/28 from inside the paint and that was the difference.

I was very impressed with Charles Bediako. For a moment there in the first half, he was Alabama’s best player. He was finding open guys, playing excellent defense on Broome, and playing aggressive. Alabama is at their best when he and Clowney are playing that way.

This team showed they’re built for March. They were down 15 at Houston, down 9 at Auburn, and has shown nothing fazes them. The more Alabama plays, the more games like OU, UConn, and Gonzaga are outlier games. Everything that could’ve went wrong, did. I don’t see but a couple teams that can match up with this team’s talent, athleticism, and depth for 40 minutes.

Alabama is now 12-0 in conference and travel to Knoxville for a showdown with Tennessee, who is coming off two buzzer beater losses to Vanderbilt and Missouri. After watching Tennessee the past few weeks, I don’t see how they can keep up offensively as their offense is horrible. They’re really good defensively, but a similar style in Vanderbilt and Missouri torched them recently. A win on Wednesday and the regular season SEC title is all but locked up.

Alabama Women cruise over Auburn

Playing a strong defensive game, Alabama cruises to a 69-46 win, Even though Davis had an off night with her three point shooting, Bama was lead with the strong driving of Sarah Ashlee Barker and her assist along with the lane scoring of Davis. Alabama’s strong defense shut down Auburn for the last six minutes of the second quarter, as Bama raced to a ten point halftime lead and never looked back. Alabama ran the conference record to 8-4, remaining a half game behind Ole Miss, which host Kentucky Monday Night.

UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Softball

imo The Worst loss for Murphy as a head coach!!!
We were totally unprepared to play softball today! Lack of fundamentals shows the lack of Coaching! We are supposed to be a top ten team? I know we have a poster who thinks BAMA is as good as Oklahoma! News Flash we are not even an average team today!
There is no way to sugarcoat this loss! If you truly care about BAMA softball you should be just as pissed off as I am! I better end this post before I get banned! We were so much better last year in a very poor BAMA softball season! He’s hoping we can comeback in the second game tonight.
