Byrne has already stated there's a process he has to follow. He doesn't have a checkbook that he can use without accountability of some kind for a decision this expensive. They were originally going to renovate Coleman but now a new arena is in play which means even more $$ is needed. So at least appreciate that he's pushing in that direction instead of a lipstick paint job for Coleman.

If you can stroke about a $200 million check tomorrow I can guarantee they finalize plans within the week.

The covid year was a bloodbath financially even for an athletic department with a championship football team. A massive shortfall from even a low end estimate of a normal year. That put everything behind.

Difference in this game and the game in T-Town is the fouls went the other way and Kessler played the whole game.

I was shocked when we pulled within 2 by making some ridiculous run of shots but we didn't get the lid off that lead and the barn just blew our doors off from there on. We sat a couple guys to give them a breather and JD went out there and before you could blink it was a 10 point game again. And again Oats never called a timeout to try and settle the team down.


Bottom line, most Bama fans don't want to admit it but that's a damn good basketball team Pearl put together this year. That's a championship game caliber team that has no excuse to not win it all. Like the dawg football team if they don't win it all then it's a failed season for them. Frankly they shouldn't lose another game this season but they'll get overconfident at some point and lose one they shouldn't. I don't think anyone in basketball can beat them when they're hitting shots and kessler stays out of foul trouble. Legit 10 deep in high level talent and they all give something unique that can tweak what they challenge you with.

Look if I am not mistaken we swept Auburn last year and that just goes to show how quickly in college basketball the worm can turn. The change in Auburn’s team happened in the TP and by signing the #1 draft choice in the upcoming NBA draft. Big time college basketball is no longer a recruit a bunch good high schoolers and develop them kind of system. If you can get a Jabari Smith so be it but it is more about plucking experienced proven players from the TP and building a free agent team that blends well with the guys you bring back and the guys you bring in.

I am 100% for these kids controlling their own lives and profitting off of NIL. With that said I hate that basketball has come to this. With all of the complaints about Oats, his, as well as other coach's, undoing may come down to an inability to locate and sign talent out of the portal.

Instead, he let it get out of reach (18+ points) before calling a TO. JQ and JS were playing their azzes off with little help from friends, but the barn was just too stacked with talent. They raise hell with KY on Saturday, but other players have to contribute. JD and Ellis have to show up on a consistent basis.
